Dogs for Life – Veteran Support Programs
Dogs For Life is open! Dogs For Life, Inc. was founded to improve the quality of life for people and dogs through the training of service dogs and operating an off-leash dog park.
– PTSD Support Group for Veterans every Monday at 7pm at their facility located at 1230 16th Ave.
– Service Dogs for Veterans program “task trains” dogs to assist their veterans with hearing and mobility challenges, as well as the effects of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS).
In August The Veterans Council of Indian River County (VCIRC), received a generous $5,000 gift from the Indian River Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America. We are honored to share that their incredible donation was used to help a 74 year old disabled Vietnam Veteran in the Veterans Helping Veterans program with home construction repairs. It is through the continued support of organizations like MOAA we are able to provide such assistance to the veterans of our community.
If you are a Veteran or you know an Indian River County Veteran in need, please call the Veterans Council of Indian River (772) 410-5820.
